Dortmund Misses Marcel Sabitzer and Niklas Süle Against Inter in the Champions League
Tuesday 27-01-2026
Borussia Dortmund will miss the services of their players Marcel Sabitzer and Niklas Süle in the anticipated clash against Inter Milan, as part of the last round of the league stage in the UEFA Champions League, dealing a new blow to the German team before a strong encounter against last season's runner-up.

Coach Niko Kovac explained the reasons for the absences during the pre-match press conference, stating that Sabitzer is suffering from leg issues, while Süle is experiencing back pain, preventing them from being present for Wednesday's match against Inter.

The absences do not stop there, as right-back Daniel Svensson will be absent due to suspension after receiving a red card, while midfielder Salih Özcan is not included in the team’s Champions League squad this season.

Despite these absences, Kovac emphasized his confidence in the available group, confirming that the team is numerically short but still has a strong and competitive lineup, adding that Dortmund will fight with all they have to achieve a positive result in this crucial European match.
