Chelsea star Joao Pedro appeared in a press statement following the 3-1 victory over Crystal Palace in the 23rd round of the English Premier League.

The player said in his statement: "We knew it was going to be a tough match, as they have a strong team. We knew we needed to win the rebounds and fight throughout the game. We scored three goals, conceded one, but we secured the three points."

He added: "In the first half, we could have maintained better possession of the ball and we didn't control the game, but the coach asked us at halftime to keep pressing and play with enthusiasm. When we scored the second goal, we breathed a little easier."

Regarding the penalty awarded to Chelsea, he concluded: "As soon as I controlled the ball, I shot as quickly as possible. I saw his arm away from his body, which is why I called for a handball, and the referee awarded it, and we scored the goal."
