The Spanish club Barcelona is aiming to finalize the renewal of its player Fermín López's contract next week, as a reward for his outstanding performance and great commitment to the team, according to the Spanish newspaper 'Mundo Deportivo.'

The newspaper mentioned that the club's management, after several rounds of negotiations with the player's agent that began last year and continued during the Spanish Super Cup in Saudi Arabia, and resumed this week in Barcelona, has made an offer to extend Fermín's contract until 2031. This includes a significant salary increase exceeding 50%, in addition to variables that become fixed amounts if achieved.

The newspaper explained that Barcelona wishes to expedite the renewal procedures and sign the contract early next week, as the club aims to conclude the matter before the anticipated electoral process within the club begins.

The newspaper added that the player and his family are studying the offer calmly, despite a general sense of satisfaction towards the club's move, especially since Fermín enjoys great trust from coach Hans Flick and the sports management, while his current contract runs until 2029.

Barcelona's move, according to the same source, comes in light of Fermín's remarkable development this season, where he scored 10 goals and provided 10 assists. The club is convinced that his current salary no longer matches his influence within the team, prompting the management to do him justice and deter the interest of major clubs in him.
