Real Madrid returned with a valuable victory from Villarreal with two unanswered goals, as part of the 21st round of the Spanish league competitions, in the match held at the Estadio de la Cerámica.

With this victory, Real Madrid raised its tally to 51 points, temporarily topping La Liga, while Villarreal's tally froze at 41 points in fourth place.

The first half of the match was strong and fast from both teams, with attempts on both goals but without real danger, before Guler shot a powerful ball from inside the penalty area but the goalkeeper saved it.

Then Mbappe shot a ground ball but the goalkeeper saved it easily, while Vinicius shot a dangerous ground ball that went just past the goal, and Villarreal threatened Courtois' goal on more than one occasion but the submarines' players lacked the final touch.

With the start of the second half, Real Madrid scored the lead goal after a cross from Vinicius was mistakenly cleared by the defender, allowing Kylian Mbappe to exploit it with a ground shot that found the net, then Gerard Moreno missed a clear goal opportunity with a shot over the goal in the 61st minute.

Mbappe almost added a second goal after a wonderful pass from Camavinga in the 81st minute but the defender cleared the ball at the last moment, then Kylian Mbappe earned a penalty in the 90+3 minute from which he scored the second goal.
