Carteron Decides His Position on Returning to Zamalek
Saturday 24-01-2026
The Frenchman Patrice Carteron, the former head coach of Zamalek Club, spoke about his stance on returning to lead the "White Knight," following his official departure from coaching the Qatari team Umm Salal in recent days.

Umm Salal Club had announced the termination of their contract with Carteron, making the French coach available for a new coaching experience. This comes amid speculations linking him to a possible return to Zamalek, given the technical circumstances the team is currently experiencing.

Carteron responded to this news through the "Kora Plus" website, affirming his great love for Egypt and Zamalek Club, saying, "I love Egypt and this club a lot." However, he also pointed out the difficulty of taking on the role at present due to the challenging circumstances the club is facing.

It is noted that Carteron, who is 55 years old, previously managed Zamalek during two separate periods in 2019 and 2021, during which he won three major titles: the Egyptian Premier League, the local Super Cup, and the African Super Cup.
