The Brazilian international midfielder of Manchester United, Casemiro, announced his departure from the Red Devils at the end of the current season, following the expiration of his contract with the club.

The Brazilian star wrote on his Instagram account: "Knowing when stages end, knowing when to say goodbye when you feel you will be remembered and respected forever."

He added: "Over the next four months, I will do my utmost for this badge and for our goal."

He concluded: "Eternal respect and affection for Manchester United and its wonderful fans."

For its part, Manchester United agreed to Casemiro's request to confirm his departure at the end of the season, as the Brazilian wanted to clarify his future and end speculation about whether he would leave or extend his contract.

Casemiro's departure is part of Manchester United's plans to rebuild the midfield. Reducing salaries allows for more budget space.
