Thursday 22-01-2026
The Italian club AS Roma has made moves in the past few hours to strengthen its squad, having included one of the prominent stars of the Saudi club Al-Shabab in its considerations for the current winter transfer market.

Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano revealed that the Roma management has made an initial offer to Al-Shabab Club to sign Belgian winger Yannick Carrasco on loan during the current month of January.

Romano clarified on his official account on the X platform that the completion of the deal depends on the approval of the Al-Shabab management, which has not yet decided on whether to allow the player to leave.

He pointed out that Rome is awaiting a response from the Saudi club, while other European clubs have shown interest in Carrasco, including Napoli, which inquired about his status a few weeks ago.

Reports indicate that Carrasco wishes to return to European football, having recently been linked with several prominent clubs such as Juventus and Atlético Madrid.

Carrasco's contract with Al-Shabab Club extends until June 2027, which gives the management an advantage in making the appropriate decision regarding his future in the coming period.

The Belgian winger participated with Al-Shabab this season in 17 official matches, comprising 14 matches in the Saudi Pro League and 3 matches in the King's Cup, during which he scored 9 goals and made 3 assists.
