Judicial Authorities Decide to Prosecute Real Madrid
Thursday 22-01-2026
The Spanish judicial authorities announced today, Thursday, a new development in the case of the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium events, which have been involving Real Madrid for some time, especially after the completion of the stadium's renovation.

According to the Spanish newspaper "elconfidencial," Judge Montserrat Aguirre de la Cuesta from the 53rd Primary Court in Madrid has decided to move the case to a summary procedure (equivalent to referring it to trial) after approximately a year and a half of investigations.

This step is considered a new blow to the Royal Club, as the judge found evidence of criminal suspicions related to organizing parties at the Bernabéu Stadium, paving the way for an official trial in the upcoming stage.

The newspaper concluded that this decision puts the club's general manager, José Ángel Sánchez, in a difficult position, as he is also on the verge of facing trial due to his role as the right-hand man to President Florentino Pérez within the club.

This decision is a significant blow to the club's plans to enhance financial resources by organizing concerts and various events within the stadium, which was specifically designed to host such activities to increase the club's revenue.
