Girona and Barcelona have announced that they have reached an agreement for the German goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen to join Girona on loan until the end of the current season, where he will take on the role of guarding the white and red team's goal for the remainder of the competitions.

Ter Stegen was born on April 30, 1992, in Mönchengladbach, Germany. He developed his football skills in the youth teams of Borussia Mönchengladbach, making his Bundesliga debut at just eighteen years old. He quickly established himself as one of Germany's most promising young goalkeepers, thanks to his competitive maturity and consistent performance.

In 2014, the German goalkeeper moved to Barcelona, where he experienced the most significant phase of his professional career. During his time with the Catalan team, he played in 423 official matches and was a key figure in achieving numerous accomplishments at both the domestic and continental levels.

Ter Stegen has won several major titles with Barcelona, including the UEFA Champions League, six La Liga titles, six Copa del Rey trophies, as well as the UEFA Super Cup and the FIFA Club World Cup. He has also established himself as one of the best goalkeepers in the world and has become a regular member of the German national team.

On a technical level, Ter Stegen is classified as a modern and complete goalkeeper, distinguished by his high ability to play with his feet, quick reflexes, and good positioning within the penalty area, along with his strength in aerial duels and excellent tactical reading. His leadership personality and extensive experience are also important assets for Girona, as they play a role in organizing the defensive line and providing the team with confidence and stability.
