Barcelona is studying the signing of Alex Remiro
Monday 19-01-2026
The Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo revealed that FC Barcelona is showing interest in signing Real Sociedad goalkeeper Alex Remiro as part of their plans for the upcoming summer transfer window, in an effort by the management to strengthen the goalkeeping position with reliable options.

According to the newspaper, Romero's contract ends in the summer of 2027, which means there is only one year left until it expires in the summer of 2026. This could lower his market value, with expectations that he might be available for around 10 million euros.

The report clarified that Barcelona does not see any conflict between signing Remiro and having the outstanding goalkeeper Joan Garcia on the team. The sports management believes that Remiro would be a suitable complement to him and a reliable backup who can be depended upon if needed.

This approach is part of the club's vision to restructure the goalkeeping department in the short and medium term by combining youth and experience, ensuring sufficient depth in one of the most critical positions within the team.
