The coach of the Senegal national team decided to withdraw from the ongoing match against Morocco in the Africa Cup of Nations final, protesting the referee's decision to award a penalty to Morocco in the 90+7 minute.

The penalty came after a review by the Video Assistant Referee (VAR), who indicated a foul inside Senegal's penalty area in favor of the Moroccan player Ibrahim Diaz.

After the penalty was awarded, the Senegal coach asked his players to withdraw from the match, protesting what was considered a highly sensitive decision at that crucial moment.

Senegal captain Sadio Mane tried to calm the situation, quickly heading to the Senegalese team's locker room to call his teammates back to complete the final moments of the match.

The Senegalese players returned to the field before Ibrahim Diaz took the penalty, which he strangely missed after executing it in a Panenka style, as Edouard Mendy easily saved it.
