The Spanish newspaper Sport has revealed that La Masia defender, Senegalese Mamadou Mbaye, is close to leaving FC Barcelona during the current transfer window to embark on a new professional experience with the American club St. Louis City.

According to the same source, Barcelona has reached an agreement with St. Louis City for Mbaye's transfer for a nominal fee, in a situation similar to what is expected with Duro Fernandez, who is close to leaving for Paris Saint-Germain.

Sport clarified that Mbaye's name was not included in the final roster for the Barcelona Atlètic team, indicating that he is no longer part of the coaching staff's plans for the upcoming period.

The newspaper also pointed out that the player underwent a medical examination yesterday at a hospital in Barcelona, as a preliminary step to finalize his official transfer, making Mbaye the latest player to leave the La Masia academy in search of a new opportunity outside the Catalan club.
