Emad Al-Nahhas Warns of Match Congestion and Its Impact on the National Team
Saturday 17-01-2026
Emad Al-Nahhas, coach of Al-Zawraa team, issued a clear warning to the organizers of the Iraqi Stars League regarding the ongoing match congestion during the current period, emphasizing that this matter will have serious negative repercussions on the players' health and physical readiness, both at the club level and the national team level.

Al-Nahhas explained that the high pace of matches and their close scheduling without sufficient rest periods will lead to increased injuries and physical exhaustion, which puts players under great pressure and directly affects their technical performance and ability to deliver on the field.

The Al-Zawraa coach pointed out that continuing this pressure will weaken the readiness of the Iraqi national team players, especially with important upcoming commitments, foremost of which are the World Playoff matches, noting that the national team needs players who are physically and mentally prepared to compete and achieve positive results.

Al-Nahhas added that protecting the players should be a priority for the competition organizers by reconsidering the match schedule and providing appropriate rest periods, ensuring the players' safety and maintaining the technical quality of the league's performance.

It is worth mentioning that the Iraqi national team is anticipating a decisive encounter in the World Playoff, where it will await the winner of the match between Bolivia and Suriname in the final match scheduled for March 31, which increases the importance of the players' readiness and avoiding injuries during this critical phase.

Emad Al-Nahhas concluded his statement by affirming that the interest of Iraqi football and the national team must be above all other considerations, calling for greater coordination among the concerned parties to serve the players' future and enhance the chances of success in the upcoming commitments.
