Hossam Abdelmajid Rejects Emirati Temptations and Clings to the Dream of European Professionalism
Thursday 15-01-2026
Hossam Abdelmajid, defender of the Egyptian national team and Zamalek club, has decided on his stance regarding the offers he has received to move to the UAE league in the near future, in case he leaves Zamalek, preferring to wait for an opportunity to play professionally in Europe.

Recent media reports indicated that several Emirati clubs, led by Al Jazira Club, are interested in signing the Zamalek defender. However, the player has not shown enthusiasm for the idea of taking on this experience at the present time.

According to On Sport FM radio, Hossam Abdel-Meguid received more than one official offer from Emirati clubs, but he declined them due to his strong desire to pursue a professional career in Europe. His agent promised to secure offers from the Portuguese or French leagues and present them to Zamalek's management.

In the same context, Zamalek Club set a minimum amount of two million dollars to approve the player's transfer abroad, with a tendency to renew his contract. However, Abdelmajid preferred to postpone discussing this matter until after his participation with the Egyptian national team in the Africa Cup of Nations held in Morocco, amid concerns within the White Castle about the possibility of his future transfer to their traditional rival, Al Ahly.
