Surprise in FIFA Ranking for Egypt National Team
Sports journalist Khaled Al-Ghandour revealed a surprise regarding the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) ranking of the Egyptian national team following their loss to Senegal in the Africa Cup of Nations.
The Egyptian national team lost to Senegal 1-0 yesterday, Wednesday, in the Africa Cup of Nations semi-final.
Al-Ghandour said on the program "Stad Al-Mahwar" that FIFA made a decision after the match ended in regular time not to deduct any points from the Pharaohs, so their total remains 1556.1 points, keeping them in 31st place so far in the February rankings.
He explained that the international ranking regulations stipulate that no points are deducted from teams in the event of a loss in the knockout stages.
