Turkish club Fenerbahçe has intensified its efforts in recent hours to sign French midfielder N'Golo Kanté, the star of Al-Ittihad, in the current winter transfer window.

Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano revealed that the agreement between Kanté and Fenerbahçe on personal terms is very close, following a positive meeting between the two parties last Tuesday.

Romano explained that negotiations are still ongoing with Al-Ittihad Club, as the Saudi club insists on receiving financial compensation and rejects the idea of the player leaving without any monetary return.

For his part, German journalist Florian Plettenberg confirmed via Sky Sports that negotiation rounds are ongoing, noting that Fenerbahçe is making significant efforts to finalize the deal quickly.

Bültenberg added that the salary issue was agreed upon between Kanté and the Turkish club, while the biggest challenge remains reaching a final agreement that satisfies the managements of both Al-Ittihad and Fenerbahçe.

Dominico Tedesco, the coach of Fenerbahçe, has a clear tactical vision for how to utilize Kanté, especially in the anticipated partnership with the French midfielder Matteo Guendouzi.

N'Golo Kanté is under a contract with Al-Ittihad Club until June 2026. This season, he has participated in 22 matches across various competitions, scoring one goal.
