Bernardo Happy with the Win Despite Controversial Refereeing Decisions
Manchester City star Bernardo Silva appeared in press statements following the 2-0 victory over Newcastle United in the first leg of the English League Cup semi-final at the Etihad Stadium.
The Portuguese star said in his interview: "I am happy, but this is just the first leg, and we will play the second leg on our home ground. We achieved a very good result; it should have been 3-0, but we are used to this situation now."
Regarding the referee's decision to disallow Semedo's second goal: "I don't know what to say, I don't want to go into detail because we know how things usually go. I saw the replay, and it seemed very close to me, but that's what happened. It's very frustrating because the last time we came here, we also faced many refereeing decisions against us."
He emphasized: "Although we won, it was honestly frustrating."
And he concluded about Antoine Simenio: "He is not just an excellent player, but also a wonderful person, which makes him a perfect fit for the team. He is a great person who wants to help us. We hope he continues in this manner."
