CAF Appoints Refereeing Team for Morocco vs Nigeria Summit
The African Football Confederation (CAF) has announced the refereeing team that will oversee the highly anticipated match between the Moroccan and Nigerian national teams in the semi-finals of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations. The match is scheduled for Wednesday evening, starting at 10 PM, at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Sports Complex in Rabat.
The match will be officiated by Ghanaian referee Daniel Nii Ayi Laria, assisted by South African officials Zakheli Thusi and Granville Siwela, as well as Soro Fatswani from Lesotho. The role of the fourth official has been assigned to Rwandan referee Samuel Owykonda.
At the level of Video Assistant Referee (VAR) technology, CAF appointed South African referee Abongile Tom to oversee the technology, assisted by Tunisian Haitham Qirat and Kenyan Stephen Onyango Yembe.
The Moroccan national team is preparing to take on this continental summit, benefiting from the advantages of playing on home ground and in front of their fans, with their sights set on reaching the final match and continuing their journey towards winning the second African title in their history, amid great optimism from Moroccan supporters.
On the other hand, the Nigerian team enters the match with great ambition, relying on its extensive experience in knockout stages and a squad of professional players capable of making a difference, aiming to halt the aspirations of the Atlas Lions and reach the continental final.
