Mohamed Magdy Afsha, Al Ahly star, bid farewell to the club's fans as he prepares to leave the team and join Al Ittihad Alexandria on loan during the current winter transfer window.

Afsha said on Instagram: "The journey has many beautiful moments we experienced together... from Africa to the league to the World Championships."

He added: "Many balls have come and gone... one was worn and changed a great history, and another was lost and flew away with a lot of money as well... none of this is important."

He continued: "The important thing is that I have lived my whole life loved and held in high regard by one of the greatest audiences in the world. I am simple and like to be easygoing and straightforward. I want to tell you that you will miss me very much."

He continued: "I hope this is not a permanent farewell, but a temporary one for a short period... I will come back like before and even more because I love the Al Ahly fans very much... I won't say goodbye... I'll say see you again soon, God willing."

He concluded: "From the bottom of my heart, thank you to the Al-Ahly fans for what has passed and for what is yet to come as well."
