Al-Ahli Approaches Signing Abha Star with One Obstacle Delaying the Deal
Al-Ahli Jeddah Club successfully secured the signing of Mishaal Al-Mutairi, a first-team football player from Abha Club, after he entered the free agency period that allows him to sign without needing approval from his current club.
Al-Ahli secured Al-Mutairi's signature on a contract lasting three seasons, making the 26-year-old player close to wearing the green jersey starting from the upcoming phase.
Abha's star underwent a medical examination in the city of Jeddah last Friday, as a preliminary step before the official announcement of the deal and his joining the team's roster.
Al-Ahli club officials have agreed with Mishal Al-Mutairi on all contract terms, while simultaneously opening direct negotiations with Abha's management to purchase the remaining duration of his contract.
Al Ahly's move comes amid their desire to sign the player during the current winter transfer window, even though his contract allows him to transfer for free later on.
On the other hand, Abha Club seeks to retain Al-Mutairi, hoping to benefit from his abilities during the Yelo League competitions and to compete for a return to the Roshn League.
It is worth noting that Mishaal Al-Mutairi began his professional career with Al-Ansar Club in 2020, before transferring to Ohod in 2022, and then joining Abha in the summer of 2023.
