Manchester United has reached a preliminary agreement with Michael Carrick and his coaching team to take temporary charge of the team until the end of the current season, according to The Athletic.

The appointment is currently subject to finalizing contract details and an official announcement, and Carrick is expected to assume his duties before the team's upcoming match against Manchester City next Saturday.

This step comes after the dismissal of coach Rúben Amorim, in an attempt by the management to stabilize the team's technical situation and prepare for the remainder of the season's matches, especially given the challenges the club is facing this season.
