French star Kylian Mbappé sent a touching farewell message to Xabi Alonso via his Instagram account, following Real Madrid's decision to dismiss him from his position as head coach of the first team.

Mbappé posted a photo of himself with Alonso and wrote: "It was a short period, but it was a pleasure to play under your leadership and to learn from you. Thank you for trusting me from day one. I will remember you as a coach who had clear ideas and knew a lot about football. I wish you success in your next step."

Real Madrid's surprising decision to sack Alonso came just 24 hours after the team lost the Spanish Super Cup final to their traditional rival Barcelona, reflecting the club's keenness to reorganize the first team's technical staff.

It is worth mentioning that Xabi Alonso had taken over coaching Real Madrid last summer and sought to implement his tactical vision on the team, but he left after a short period due to disagreements with some of the team's stars, as well as the team's inconsistent performance.
