Al-Ittihad Closes the Door on Al-Hilal Swap Deal
Al-Ittihad Club has closed the file on a proposed swap deal with Al-Hilal during the current winter transfer window, after deciding to withdraw from completing it despite recent discussions within both clubs.
The program "Dorina Ghair" revealed that the proposed deal involved Abdulrahman Al-Aboud moving to Al-Hilal, in exchange for defender Ali Al-Bulaihi joining Al-Ittihad in a swap deal.
The same source explained that the idea did not reach the stage of formal negotiations, despite there being initial approval earlier, before the federation changed its position and completely withdrew from it.
Al Hilal was looking to strengthen the attacking midfield position with a local player during the winter transfer window, with several names considered, the most prominent being Sultan Mandash, followed by Hammam Al-Hamami and Abdulrahman Al-Aboud.
Al Hilal successfully finalized the signing of Sultan Mendesh from Al Taawoun, with a contract lasting two and a half years, keeping the player with the blue team until June 2028.
On the other hand, Al-Ittihad has opened the door for Abdulrahman Al-Aboud to be loaned out during the current transfer window, after he was excluded from the plans of Portuguese coach Sergio Conceição for disciplinary reasons.
Press reports indicated that Al-Shabab Club has entered the negotiations with Al-Ittihad, aiming to sign Al-Aboud in January, with promises to give him a starting role if the deal is completed.
