The case of Moroccan international Mahmoud Bentayeb with the Egyptian club Zamalek has seen new developments, amid recent reports about the possibility of his departure from the team during the current winter transfer window.

Sports broadcaster Ahmed Shobeir revealed on his radio program "With Shobeir" on On Sport FM that Zamalek club's management has taken official steps regarding the player, affirming their insistence on keeping him as part of the team and emphasizing that his contract is still valid. He added that the management has threatened to impose strict penalties on Bentake due to his continuous absence from training sessions in recent times.

In the same context, press reports indicated that the controversy surrounding the player's future escalated after he removed the description "player at Zamalek Club" from his official Instagram account, which followers interpreted as a sign of tension between the two parties and the impending end of the experience.

The reports indicated that the absence of negotiation sessions between Zamalek's management and Benteke recently is due to the financial crisis the club is experiencing and the lack of sufficient liquidity to pay the overdue dues. This has prevented reaching a quick solution to resolve the ongoing dispute and clearly determine the player's future.
