Marmoush's goal is the fastest for the Egyptian national team in the knockout stages of the Africa Cup of Nations in over five decades, bringing to mind the legendary Hassan El-Shazly's goal, who scored against Ivory Coast in the third minute during a match between the two teams on February 16, 1970.

Marmoush's goal came after a strong start by the Pharaohs, as the Egyptian team applied early pressure on Ivory Coast's defense, culminating in a brilliant pass from Emam Ashour to Marmoush, who skillfully dribbled past an Ivory Coast defender before firing a low shot into the net.
