The German Football League announced the postponement of several matches in the sixteenth round of the championship due to harsh winter weather conditions affecting several areas in northern Germany at present.

The league explained in an official statement that the match between St. Pauli and Leipzig, which was scheduled to take place on Saturday, has been postponed due to heavy snowfall and ice accumulation around the stadium, making it unsafe to hold the match.

It was also decided to postpone the Werder Bremen vs. Hoffenheim match, scheduled for the same day, due to widespread ice and snow accumulation on and around the pitch, which rendered the playing surface unfit to host the game.

The German Football League concluded its statement by emphasizing that the safety of players, fans, and all staff is the top priority, noting that new dates for the postponed matches will be announced in due course.
