Saturday 10-01-2026
The Moroccan national team qualified for the semi-finals of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations after defeating the Cameroon team 2-0 in the match held this evening at the Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat, as part of the quarter-final stage of the continental competition.

Since the whistle of the Mauritanian referee Dahan Bayda, the match has been characterized by a fast pace and great enthusiasm, with both teams exchanging attacking attempts in the early minutes, amid a notable crowd presence strongly supporting the home team.

In the 26th minute, Ibrahim Diaz, the tournament's top scorer, succeeded in breaking through the Cameroonian defense, scoring the first goal for the Moroccan national team after a well-organized attack finished with a successful shot into the net.

Both teams tried to add more goals before the end of the first half, but haste and a lack of focus in the final touch prevented this, and the half ended with the "Atlas Lions" leading 1-0.

At the start of the second half, the Moroccan team entered the field with clear determination to extend the lead and secure qualification early, while the Cameroonian team sought to make a comeback in the match. However, Morocco's defensive organization was strong and succeeded in closing down the spaces.

In the 74th minute, Ismail Saibari extended the national team's lead by scoring the second goal, confirming Morocco's dominance and control over the match, securing the victory with a 2-0 score.

The Moroccan national team is scheduled to face the winner of the match between Algeria and Nigeria in the semi-final, which will take place next Wednesday at 9:00 PM at the Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat.
