Khaled Galal, former Zamalek star, criticized Danish coach Jes Thorup of Al Ahly, stating that he is not convinced by his technical abilities.

Khaled Galal said on the program "Al-Laeeb" on MBC Masr channel: "Emad El Nahhas had strong performances and won the league with Al Ahly. You brought in two foreign coaches: the first was Ribeiro, who failed with Al Ahly, and the second is Jes Thorup, whom I am still not convinced about technically."

He added: "There have been coaches who made a mark in Egyptian football, like José with Al Ahly and Ferreira with Zamalek, but it's not just about hiring a foreign coach and that's it."

He continued: "Why don't we support local coaches? There are technical talents from Al Ahly and Zamalek who are capable of managing the system, even though the technical leadership of the Egyptian national team is a national coach, Hossam Hassan, and that's why he is being attacked."
