Friday 09-01-2026
Sports presenter Khaled El-Ghandour, former Zamalek star, revealed that a recent conflict occurred between Egypt's Al Ahly and Morocco's Raja Casablanca.

Al-Ghandour said in radio statements: "Khaled Mortagy, the treasurer of Al-Ahly Club, left Cairo heading to Morocco to deal with the intense anger that has taken hold of the officials of Raja Casablanca Club."

He added: "The anger of the Moroccan club Raja came due to Al Ahly's slow processing of the procedures to finalize the purchase of Youssef Belamri during the winter transfer window."

He continued: "The management of the Moroccan club Raja wanted to back out of the agreement and contracts with Al Ahly club and not complete the transfer deal of Youssef Belamri to the Red Castle team."

Al-Ghandour continued that Youssef Thorup, Al-Ahly's coach, has withdrawn his desire to sign Belaamri and believes that priority should be given to a foreign player.

He added that Al Ahly's management is trying to convince Torop to reconsider his stance against signing the Moroccan star.
