Escalating Crisis Inside Zamalek Due to Financial Dues
The crisis involving Moroccan player Mahmoud Bentaig, a member of Zamalek SC's first football team, has continued as he persistently refused to participate in the team's group training sessions, due to not receiving his overdue financial dues over the past few months.
According to the platform "247," the player refused to attend Zamalek's training today, despite being officially notified by the administrative staff. This is due to the ongoing financial dispute between the two parties and the fact that his dues have not yet been settled.
Reports indicated that the player has not participated in any training sessions with Zamalek since his return from Qatar, following his victory with the Moroccan local national team in the Arab Cup last month, as the conflict escalated after his return to Cairo.
In the same context, Mahmoud Bentayeg's agent had informed Zamalek's management of his intention to unilaterally terminate the player's contract, citing delayed payments amounting to approximately $220,000.
While the club management confirmed its commitment to maintaining the player's contract until 2028, there are reports linking his name to a transfer to Pyramids Club during the current winter transfer window if his contract with the White Castle is terminated.
