Qatar May Exceptionally Host the Spanish Super Cup Next Season
The Spanish newspaper Marca revealed that Qatar may exceptionally host the Spanish Super Cup next season, due to a scheduling conflict with the Asian Cup, prompting the Spanish Football Federation to seek alternative solutions.
According to the report, the Spanish Football Federation has entered into negotiations with several parties to ensure the continued organization of the tournament outside of Spain, with Saudi Arabia, which is currently hosting the Spanish Super Cup, being a primary party.
Marca added that the discussions with the Saudi side include the possibility of extending the contract to host the Spanish Super Cup until 2030, as part of the ongoing partnership between the two parties in recent years.
Meanwhile, the Spanish Football Federation is also negotiating with Qatar to host the tournament for four years until 2034, which could pave the way for the Spanish Super Cup to return to Doha if an official agreement is reached between both parties.
