Pinto Chooses His Next Destination and Closes the Door on West Ham
Brazilian goalkeeper Pinto Matheus, who plays for Al-Nassr Saudi Club, has decided on the destination he would like to move to if he leaves the team during the current winter transfer window.
The Saudi newspaper Al-Riyadiyah revealed that Pinto prefers to move to the Italian club Genoa on loan until the end of the season, with an option to buy for 5 million euros.
Previous reports indicated that English club West Ham United showed interest in the Brazilian goalkeeper, submitting an official offer of £10 million, with the deal structured as a loan and a weekly salary of £25,000.
The newspaper emphasized that Pinto chooses Genoa despite the English offer, as he wants to move to the Italian league to reorganize his career after a less-than-ideal period with Al-Nassr.
The report explained that Portuguese coach Jorge Jesus, the manager of Al-Nassr, supported Pinto's departure during the current transfer window, noting the necessity of signing a defensive midfielder to strengthen the team's lineup.
Pinto joined Al-Nassr in the summer of 2024 for 18 million euros, coming from the Brazilian club Atlético Paranaense. He played 59 matches, conceded 61 goals, and kept a clean sheet in 20 games with the yellow team.
