Pinto Matheus Receives Italian Offer
Brazilian Pinto Matheus, goalkeeper of Saudi club Al-Nassr, received an external offer that may hasten his departure from the club with the start of the winter transfer market this January.
The ranking of Al-Nassr goalkeepers this season saw Pinto drop to second place, after Portuguese coach Jorge Jesus gave the primary trust to goalkeeper Nawaf Al-Aqidi in the Roshn League matches.
Turkish journalist Akram Konur, specialized in transfer market news, revealed that Italian club Genoa expressed interest in signing Pinto during the current winter transfer window.
Konur explained via his account on the “X” platform that Genoa’s management submitted an official offer to sign the 26-year-old Brazilian goalkeeper, who also holds Italian nationality.
The same source indicated that Pinto informed Al-Nassr officials of his desire to experience European professional football, preferring to leave the Saudi league during the current winter period.
Pinto joined Al-Nassr in the summer of 2023, coming from Brazilian club Atlético Paranaense, with a contract extending until June 2028.
The Al-Nassr goalkeeper has played 59 matches in various competitions, conceding 61 goals, and succeeded in keeping a clean sheet in 21 matches wearing the Al-Nassr jersey.
