Thursday 08-01-2026
Brighton club chairman Paul Barber confirmed that his club has not received any official contact from Manchester United regarding the signing of Cameroonian midfielder Carlos Baleba, emphasizing that all the rumors circulating in the media are not based on facts on the ground.

Barber said in a press statement: "No one from Manchester United has contacted us, and we have not received any official offer," denying any negotiations or talks regarding the player's transfer at this time.

The Brighton chairman added that the club does not wish to sell Baleba, considering him one of the key elements in the team's future project, especially given the strong performances he has delivered since joining and his quick adaptation to the atmosphere of the English Premier League.

Carlos Baleba is considered one of Brighton's most prominent young talents, having attracted the interest of several major European clubs. However, the English club's management appears determined to keep him, as they aim to maintain the team's stability and compete strongly in the upcoming seasons.
