Al Hilal club is heading to search for a new right-back during the current winter transfer period, aiming to fill the expected void after the Portuguese João Cancelo is close to leaving the team.

The technical staff, led by Italian Simone Inzaghi, is working on preparing suitable alternatives to ensure the continuation of technical balance, especially with the importance of the right-back position in Al Hilal's current system.

João Cancelo has decided to leave Al Hilal and return to European fields, amid interest from several major clubs, most notably Barcelona, Inter Milan, and Juventus.

Italian journalist Nicolo Schira revealed via his account on the “X” platform that Al Hilal's management is considering the option of bringing back their former player Saud Abdulhamid to compensate for Cancelo's departure.

Schira explained that the name Saud Abdulhamid is strongly proposed within Al Hilal’s corridors, given the club's knowledge of his capabilities and his ability to quickly adapt to the team's atmosphere.

Saud Abdulhamid, the right-back of Roma, is spending the current season on loan at the French club Lens after falling out of the main playing plans with the Italian team.

The 26-year-old player moved to Roma in the summer of 2023, coming from Al Hilal, in his first professional European experience.

Saud has played 12 matches with Lens this season, participating for 297 minutes, scoring one goal and assisting two decisive passes, bringing himself back into the circle of interest once again.
