Al Hilal Saudi Club has made a strong move to strengthen its attacking line, expressing interest in signing Polish star Robert Lewandowski, the Barcelona striker, during the winter transfer window starting in early January.

The Saudi newspaper "Al-Youm" revealed that Al-Hilal's management has already initiated official contacts with Barcelona to discuss the possibility of signing Lewandowski during the current winter transfer window.

Al Hilal aims to acquire Lewandowski's services on a loan deal until the end of the current season, in a move intended to strengthen the team's attacking power in the second half of the season.

The newspaper explained that the ongoing negotiations between Al Hilal and Barcelona are progressing positively, with flexibility from the involved parties to discuss the details of the potential deal.

Robert Lewandowski's contract with Barcelona extends until the summer of 2026, but he entered the free period this January, which gives him the right to sign with any club without needing approval from the Catalan club's management.

Al Hilal's interest in signing Lewandowski comes amid the limited benefits from the Uruguayan Darwin Núñez, due to the frequent injuries that have plagued him since joining from Liverpool in last summer's transfer window.
