Portuguese Rui Pedro, the sporting director of Al-Ahly club, ended the controversy following the El Clasico match by offering a direct apology to his compatriots Cristiano Ronaldo and João Félix, the Al-Nassr duo.

This came after Al-Ahly's 3-2 victory over Al-Nassr in the 13th round of the Roshn Saudi League, hosted at the Al-Inma Stadium in King Abdullah Sports City in Jeddah.

After the final whistle, Pedro headed to celebrate with Al-Ahly goalkeeper Abdulrahman Al-Sanabi, an action that upset Al-Nassr players and caused a brief verbal altercation with João Félix before the technical staff intervened.

The sporting director of Al-Ahly clarified on his official Instagram account that his behavior was not driven by provocation, affirming that his intention was to support his team's goalkeeper after the match ended.

Pedro confirmed that the victory was achieved against the strongest opponent Al-Ahly has faced this season, praising the players' spirit and unity, and considering the night special for the club's fans who strongly supported the team.

Pedro dedicated a message of support to goalkeeper Abdulrahman Al-Sanabi, emphasizing that the team goes through mistakes and successes together and does not leave any player behind during difficult times.

Pedro concluded his statement by issuing a public apology to Ronaldo and Félix, affirming his great respect for them and that what happened was a misunderstanding and an unintended moment during the celebration, especially after Al-Sanabi's error in Al-Nassr's first goal in the 31st minute.
