Barcelona on the Verge of Securing Hamza Abdelkarim Deal
Egyptian club Al Ahly is close to approving the improved offer submitted by FC Barcelona to sign the young striker Hamza Abdelkarim to Barcelona Atlètic, according to the Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo.
Hamza Abdelkarim turns 18 on January 1, 2026, and can now officially move to the Catalan club on loan until June.
The deal includes a purchase option that has increased from 1.25 to 1.5 million euros, and the offer also includes additional bonuses based on his participation with the team and achievements, reaching up to 5 million euros or 6.5 million euros, compared to 3 million in the original agreement.
Egyptian sources told Mundo Deportivo that the technical committee of Al Ahly, headed by Mahmoud El Khatib, met on the last day of 2025 and is expected to approve the deal soon.
Abdelkarim will be an important addition to Barcelona Atlètic's attack, which has been affected by injuries to key forwards Víctor Barberá and Óscar Gistau, as the team needs to strengthen its attacking line in the upcoming period.
It is worth mentioning that Hamza, the left winger who stood out during the Under-17 World Cup, recently suffered a severe ankle injury during Al Ahly’s match against Al Mokawloon Al Arab, which forced him to leave the game after sustaining a contusion in the ankle area.
