Egypt Rises to 31st Place in New FIFA Ranking
The Egyptian national team has risen to 31st place globally in the latest FIFA rankings following the Pharaohs' victories over Zimbabwe and South Africa, as well as their draw with Angola in the group stage of the Africa Cup of Nations.
FIFA announced that Egypt gained (+12.49 points) in its new world ranking following the conclusion of the group stage in the Africa Cup of Nations.
FIFA explained that before the start of the Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco 2025, the Egyptian national team had 1515.18 points. However, by winning against Zimbabwe and South Africa and drawing with Angola, the Pharaohs gained an additional 12.49 points, moving them up to 31st place in the new global ranking, compared to their current 35th place according to the latest ranking released by the international federation.
FIFA also stated that if the Egyptian national team wins against Benin in the Round of 16 of the Africa Cup of Nations, the team will earn (+8.97 points) if they win within regular time. However, if they win through a penalty shootout, the Pharaohs will only receive (+0.22 points) since the match is considered a draw during regular and extra time.
