Former Brazilian star Roberto Carlos da Silva, ambassador of Real Madrid, was transferred to a hospital in Brazil after experiencing a heart problem while he was in his home country on vacation.

According to the Spanish newspaper "AS," Carlos had gone for medical tests on his leg due to a small clot, before undergoing a full-body MRI scan, which revealed that his heart function was significantly reduced, necessitating urgent medical intervention.

Roberto Carlos was immediately admitted to the hospital for surgery to insert a catheter. Although the procedure was initially expected to take about 40 minutes, it extended to nearly three hours due to emergency complications during the operation.

In the end, the procedure was successful, and the doctors confirmed that Roberto Carlos is out of danger. However, he will remain under close medical supervision for an additional 48 hours to ensure his condition remains stable and continues to improve.

Roberto Carlos was keen to reassure Real Madrid fans, saying in a brief message: "I am now fine and under close medical supervision."
