Young star Lamin Yamal continued to assert his position as one of the most prominent European football players during 2025, after combining sporting brilliance with high economic value, according to the Spanish newspaper "Mundo Deportivo".

The newspaper mentioned that the 18-year-old Barcelona winger ended the year with exceptional offensive numbers, becoming one of only two players in the top five European leagues in 2025 to surpass 20 goals and 20 assists in all competitions, after scoring 21 goals and providing 21 assists, an achievement matched only by Bayern Munich's Michael Olise.

The newspaper added that this brilliance directly reflected on Yamal's market value, as data from "Transfermarkt" revealed that he will finish 2025 with a value of 200 million euros, maintaining his position as the most expensive player in the world, the same value recently regained by Manchester City's Erling Haaland and Real Madrid's Kylian Mbappé in the latest update.

The newspaper pointed out that Lamin Yamal's value development was upward, reaching 180 million euros in December 2024, then rising to 200 million euros in June 2025 and stabilizing at that figure by the end of the year.

On the individual awards level, the newspaper clarified that the end of 2025 witnessed Yamal winning four awards in less than 24 hours, the most prominent of which were the Maradona Award and Best Forward at the Globe Soccer Awards ceremony, in addition to the Best Under-23 Player award at the La Liga Awards, as well as being honored by the Catalan Football Federation as the Best Player of the 2024/2025 season.

The report indicated Yamal's return to Barcelona after his vacation in Dubai, where he participated in the open training session held at Johan Cruyff Stadium, amid a large crowd that confirmed the growing popularity of the young star among the Catalan club's fans.
