Zamalek Weighs Four Coaches to Succeed Ahmed Abdel Raouf
Monday 29-12-2025
Officials at Zamalek Club have shortlisted four candidates to take over as head coach of the first football team, succeeding Ahmed Abdel Raouf, in the near future, amid the current crises the team is facing.

According to Al-Watan newspaper, Zamalek's board of directors will hold a crucial meeting today to decide on the new head coach. This comes amid growing frustration within the board following Ahmed Abdel Raouf's statements after yesterday's match against Baladiyat El Mahalla, as well as issues related to financial dues and the termination of the contract of Moroccan left-back Mahmoud Bentayej with the club.

The newspaper pointed out that the meeting may include expressing gratitude to the current head coach, especially after the decision to cancel the team's training session today, Monday—a move that reflects the tension and instability within the team in recent hours.

The reports indicated that Khaled Galal and Moatamad Gamal are leading the list of candidates to take on the coaching role, should the decision be made to part ways with Abdel Raouf, given the successes the duo achieved in previous stints with Zamalek.

The newspaper concluded its report by noting that other names are also being considered by the management, including Tarek Mostafa and Ayman Al-Ramadi. However, their existing contracts with their current clubs, whether in Libya or with Al Ahly Bank, may pose an obstacle to completing negotiations at this time.
