Al-Hilal Legend Advises Management to Release Two Foreign Players
Monday 29-12-2025
Mohammed Al-Duaij, former goalkeeper of Al-Hilal, urged the management of the blue club to make bold decisions during the winter transfer window by releasing some foreign players and signing a foreign striker capable of making a difference.

Al-Duwaigh explained during his appearance on the program "Dorina Ghair" that he wishes for the departure of the Uruguayan striker Darwin Núñez, considering that the team needs a more effective alternative striker inside the penalty area.

The retired Al Hilal goalkeeper indicated that the option to release players might also extend to the Portuguese full-back João Cancelo, if it becomes necessary to make room to register a new foreign striker in the team's roster.

Al-Daeea justified his position by saying that Darwin Núñez suffers from frequent injuries and lacks the required scoring instinct, considering that signing him was based on a technical vision that did not achieve success.

He confirmed that Al Hilal competes in all tournaments and needs players who are ready and capable of consistent performance, explaining that the issue is not so much financial waste as it is an unsuccessful technical choice.

Al-Daee cited the case of Serbian striker Aleksandar Mitrović, who was previously released due to injuries despite his scoring value, highlighting the importance of physical fitness.

According to press reports, Darwin Núñez is likely to be removed from Al-Hilal's foreign player list for domestic competitions due to his recurring injuries and limited technical contribution.

It is noted that João Cancelo was excluded from Al Hilal's foreign players list in the Roshn League at the beginning of the current season due to an injury, and the Brazilian forward Marcos Leonardo was registered in his place.
