Monday 29-12-2025
The Globe Soccer Awards have just announced the winner of the Best Midfielder in the World award for 2025, during the ceremony held as part of the Dubai Sports Conference in the United Arab Emirates.

Vitinha, the Paris Saint-Germain star, was crowned with the award after strong competition with some of the world's top midfielders, led by his teammate João Neves, as well as Chelsea's Cole Palmer, Barcelona's Pedri, and Real Madrid's Jude Bellingham.

The crowning of the Portuguese international was well-deserved and earned, given the outstanding performances he delivered with Paris Saint-Germain throughout the past season and throughout 2025, where he was a key element in the team's midfield.

Verratti played a clear and significant role in helping Paris Saint-Germain achieve a historic sextuple, which included the French League, the French Cup, the UEFA Champions League, the French Super Cup, and the Intercontinental Cup.

Recently, Vitinha's name has been linked with transfers to several major European clubs, amid reports indicating Real Madrid's interest in signing him for 90 million euros. However, the player appears happy to be with the Paris-based club and is not currently considering leaving.
