Portuguese Rui Pedro, the sporting director of Al-Ahli Club, made strong statements following the surprising loss against Al-Fateh with a score of (2-1), during the eleventh round of the Roshn Saudi League.

Al-Ahli suffered a painful comeback after taking the lead with a goal by Valentin Atangana, before Al-Fateh turned the tables with a brace from the Argentine Matías Vargas, causing Al-Raqi to leave the match without any points.

Rui Pedro commented on his official Instagram account, confirming that the club's name, the value of the players, and the support of the fans alone are not enough to achieve victories on the field.

The sporting director emphasized that the team has no excuses, explaining that the shortcomings were internal, and that the performance was not at the required level to bring back the three points to Jeddah.

Pedro clarified that effort and sacrifice are essential elements when plans falter, but the absence of focus, attention, and emotional intelligence throughout the match undermines any strategy, no matter how strong.

He affirmed that the Roshn Saudi League is among the toughest competitions, and it is impossible to compete without commitment and consistency in every match, noting that what was presented against Al-Fateh was not sufficient at all.

He concluded his message by stressing the necessity to fully take responsibility, calling for serious work instead of promises, and reducing expectations while increasing results to quickly correct the course.

Al-Ahli currently occupies fourth place in the Roshn Saudi League standings with 19 points, earned from five wins, four draws, and one loss.
