Al-Zawraa's Position on the News of Nizar Al-Rashdan's Departure

Friday 26-12-2025
Reports have escalated indicating the possible departure of the Jordanian player Nizar Al-Rashdan from his current team Al-Zawraa, following the outstanding performances he delivered in the 2025 Arab Cup in Qatar.

Al-Rashdan, 26 years old, is considered one of the most prominent players of the Jordanian national team in the midfield position, as he recently helped lead Al-Nashama to the Arab Cup final after scoring the precious winning goal against the Saudi national team.

Special sources stated: "The management of Al-Zawraa Club is pleased with the great performances Al-Rashdan showed with Al-Nashama in the recent Arab Cup in Qatar, as this was confirmed by their vision and confidence in the player, being one of the most important midfielders currently. This positive impression is also shared by the Al-Nawaris fans who aspire to return to the podiums of glory."

They added: "The Jordanian player confirmed to the technical staff and administration that he is very happy to be at Al-Zawraa and has not spoken to them about any external offer, as he has not yet received any official offer to acquire the Jordanian star’s services. If such an offer occurs, there will be a meeting with the player to discuss the matter; therefore, there is no official offer for his departure."

The source continued: "The management of Al-Zawraa Club, even if it receives an official offer, is not willing to let go of Al-Rashdan, as he is an important player in the club’s project this season. Coach Imad Al-Nahhas also expressed his insistence on keeping the player, as he is considered the key to the team’s attacks due to his proficiency in short passes, his ability to retain the ball, and his excellence in shooting from outside the penalty area, which gives him several technical keys."

The source added: "Al-Zawraa’s management will seek to strengthen the team during the upcoming winter transfer window, and it may witness the addition of a fourth Jordanian player after Nizar Al-Rashdan, Abdullah Naseeb, and Rizq Bani Hani. The club is studying several deals, and the appropriate decision will be made in coordination with coach Imad Al-Nahhas, who has identified his needs after the team’s success in qualifying from the groups of the AFC Champions League 2."

Nizar Al-Rashdan has played 6 matches with Al-Zawraa in the Iraqi Stars League this season, scoring one goal. He has also not missed any match for Al-Nawaris in the AFC Champions League 2, scoring one goal in 6 matches as well.
