Dissasi.. The Almost Impossible Option for Barcelona in the Winter Transfer Market
Friday 26-12-2025
Chelsea defender Axel Dissasi has joined the list of candidates to strengthen Barcelona's defense in the winter transfer market, but the deal seems very difficult due to the club's financial situation, according to a report by the Spanish newspaper "Sport".

Dissasi comes as an option to compensate for the defense position after Andreas Christensen suffered a partial tear in the anterior cruciate ligament, which will keep the Danish player off the field for several months.

Hans Flick hopes to have Ronald Araujo back when training resumes on December 29, but he will need time to regain his form after a long absence, while the team depends on Pau Cubarsí and the versatile Eric Garcia. Gerard Marti has also been repositioned to play as a central defender instead of his original left-back position.

Dissasi is a physically strong defender, standing 1.90 meters tall, combining speed with ball control skills, but he represents a significant financial burden as he has a high salary and his contract with Chelsea runs until June 2029. The player is currently in conflict with Chelsea coach Mariska, who does not plan to rely on him, and his previous period ended with a loan to Aston Villa.

According to the Spanish newspaper "Sport," it is difficult for Barcelona to complete a permanent transfer or even a loan deal for Dissasi due to Financial Fair Play rules and his high salary, although the player could provide a short- to medium-term solution for the defense position, as the team currently only has two pure defenders: Pau Cubarsí and Eric Garcia.

Upcoming matches, such as the derby against Espanyol and the Spanish Super Cup against Athletic Bilbao, are expected to influence the club's decisions in the transfer market, with Barcelona's management keen to move cautiously and choose any deal that aligns with coach Hans Flick's needs and the club's financial capabilities.
