Hussam Fawzi, the assistant coach of Al-Zawraa team, identified the benefits of the loss that Al-Zawraa suffered against Saudi Al-Nassr in the last round of the group stage of the AFC Champions League 2.

The two teams faced each other at Al-Orobah Park Stadium in Riyadh, where Al-Zawraa lost 5-1 in a match that witnessed great dominance by the Saudi team, which finished the group stage with a perfect record.

Hussam Fawzi said: "Al-Zawraa was supposed to take advantage of this match to deliver a better performance by competing against such teams to gain experience, but the result was disappointing, although it is a realistic result that reflects the technical differences between our team and Al-Nassr, which showed great strength in all matches."

He added: "We trained for two days on Saudi fields, which differ greatly from the fields we have, and they are much better in terms of grass, facilities, and infrastructure. I believe that playing matches in Asian competitions is very important to interact with technically superior teams, and also to gain experience playing on different pitches in the region."

He continued: "The technical differences between Al-Zawraa and Al-Nassr are clear, as we have attacking problems inside the penalty area and defensive ones as well. This is the benefit of facing Al-Nassr’s stars in this match, as we closely observed our team and identified the main weaknesses, and we will work on addressing them in the upcoming matches, especially since the team still has a lot to offer in this season’s AFC Champions League 2."

He concluded by saying: "I expect Al-Nassr Club to easily win this tournament title, as they are a tough opponent for all participating teams. Honestly, you feel they are on a different level compared to the other teams. As for Al-Zawraa, we will work on fixing the flaws and exert our utmost efforts to reach the farthest possible stage in this tournament, despite the difficulty of the competition and the strength of the teams we will face."
