Early Warning from Jesus to Al-Nassr Duo Before Al-Zawraa Match
Portuguese coach Jorge Jesus, head of Saudi Arabia's Al-Nassr team, issued a clear warning to the duo Wesley Teixeira and Sultan Al-Ghannam ahead of their match against Iraq's Al-Zawraa in the AFC Champions League.
Jesus emphasized the importance of avoiding yellow cards during the match, fearing suspension in the upcoming rounds, especially given the critical stage and the proximity of the knockout phase.
The Saudi sports newspaper Al-Riyadiyah clarified that the coaching staff warned the players about the tournament regulations, which stipulate that any player who receives three yellow cards in matches will be suspended.
The regulations also indicate that all yellow cards will be canceled before the knockout stages begin, unless the player receives a direct red card or a third warning.
The Brazilian Wesley participated in four matches with Al-Nassr in the AFC Champions League 2, during which he scored one goal and received two yellow cards against Goa of India and Istiklol Dushanbe.
On the other hand, Sultan Al-Ghannam participated in five matches in the continental championship, during which he provided one assist and received two yellow cards against Istiklol Dushanbe and Goa FC.
Al-Nassr will host their Iraqi counterpart Al-Zawraa at the "First Park" stadium in Riyadh, as part of the sixth round of the group stage, this Wednesday evening.
The starting whistle blows at 7:00 PM Mecca time, with Al-Nassr leading Group D with 15 points, followed by Al-Zawraa with 9 points, then Istiklol Dushanbe and Goa.
