Noureddine Zakari Explodes a Heavy Surprise Regarding the Saudi National Team
Thursday 25-12-2025
Algerian Noureddine Zakari opens the door to possibilities regarding taking over as coach of the Saudi national team, in case the Saudi Football Federation decides to end the tenure of the French coach Hervé Renard with the "Falcons."

Zakri emphasizes, during his interview with Al Ekhbariya channel, his strong connection to Saudi Arabia since 2016, noting his frequent presence there for both professional and personal reasons, which keeps him closely connected to Saudi football.

The Algerian coach points out that his name might be under consideration within the Saudi Football Federation, especially with fan demands calling for him to be given the opportunity to lead the national team in the upcoming phase.

Zakri emphasizes his conviction about the necessity of relying on a national or Arab coach, considering that previous experiences with several foreign coaches did not achieve the expected results with the Saudi national team.

The former Al-Khulood coach states that Hervé Renard is not the best choice to lead Saudi Arabia in the 2026 World Cup, explaining that the issue is primarily technical rather than related to the quality of the players.

Zakri expresses his pride in the possibility of coaching Al-Akhdar, emphasizing that the Saudi national team includes the best player in Asia, but the current coaching staff has not helped the players perform at their best.

Noureddine Zakri has an extensive coaching record in the Saudi league since 2013, having managed the clubs Al-Raed, Al-Fayha, Damac, Al-Akhdoud, and Al-Kholood, which gives him significant experience in the local football scene.
